Little Grace’s Birthday Party
The graphic silent novel called Little Grace’s Birthday Party involved the process of type integration and cover design. I conducted character studies to identify how the proportion of children would look, added props, and found out how to execute compositional flow within the storyboards. I started out sketching, then colored in grayscale, and then colored and made a true story about my birthday for a realistic and nostalgic storyline.

Traveling Zoo
A first self-published children's book called Traveling Zoo was created with watercolor and ink. The book represented the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, but from a secular world point of view inspired by C.S. Lewis’s book The Chronicles of Narnia. The story is about a family of four on their way to Southern California. The zookeeper is no longer able to keep the animals in the zoo so he asks his hometown friend who is the dad. The dad decides to bring the zoo animals into the family’s RV to travel around places. Due to the turn of events that happen, the value of friendship brings the family a fortune with live circus shows.

The Wrong Pill Can
Play with Your Mind
Based on the New Yorker op ed article The Wrong Pill Can Play with Your Mind by Jamie Lowe. The article was about how the pill worked for some and not others and woman wished she had known which pill could work earlier. I wanted to do a graphic shape of the pill and paint an illustration of the negative feeling of taking a wrong pill.

Flower family
The family of five: Onion baby, Knightman, Lillyby, Leafy seal, and wish maker complete the family. The characters live within forest with special talents to share. I was inspired by the flower characters that were in John Tenniel’s sketches for Alice in Wonderland, and I wanted to interpret my characters in my own style.
